CÁRNE Ristorante was recently featured by What’s New Indonesia, in a review titled “Dry Aged Mastery & Handmade Pasta: CÁRNE Ristorante, The Hidden Italian Gem in Jakarta.”
The piece follows a full meal at our Menteng house, from the first plate through to dessert.
A HIDDEN ITALIAN GEM
The review describes CÁRNE as a culinary hideaway where Italian heritage is reimagined with genuine intention, set inside a restored Dutch colonial building.
It notes the curved red-brick walls, the marble floors and the light coming through the glass roof, and calls the atmosphere vibrant yet airy.
CRAFT ON THE PLATE
Shrimp con Aglio and Spedini di Manzo opened the meal, followed by Linguine al Granchio Nero and Frutti di Mare, each cooked to an exact al dente.
The Bistecca alla Fiorentina was the centrepiece, dry-aged and served alongside charred Brussels sprouts and grilled mushrooms, with the review highlighting precise execution and flame control.
VALUE WORTH NOTING
What the writer found most compelling was the value, observing that CÁRNE dismantles the idea that fine dining must mean high prices and small portions.
The drinks drew the same attention, from the Barrel Aged Negroni to non-alcoholic pours like the Chrysanthemum Collins, alongside the Garden Bite menu for lighter visits.
OUR THANKS
A review like this reflects what our team works toward every service: ingredients treated with respect, dishes prepared in house, and hospitality that feels personal.
Our thanks to What’s New Indonesia for the visit, and we look forward to welcoming more guests to the house in Menteng.
